You Should Be Happy, 2025
Available
You Should Be Happy looks at the uncomfortable distance between the expectation of happiness and the reality of early motherhood. Drawing on experiences of postnatal depression and imagery associated with the still-face experiment, the work explores disconnection, performance and the pressure to inhabit an idealised version of maternal happiness when internal experience tells a very different story.
