A Gentleman's Agreement transforms a supermarket into a cheerful scene of transaction and return. Among the aisles, a man arrives at the customer-service desk carrying a crumpled pile of women, as though returning unwanted goods. Male faces throughout the scene are obscured or redacted. Using the familiar language of shopping and customer service, the work considers commodification, entitlement and the uncomfortable overlap between consumption and relationships.
